Project objectives
The aim of the ITS – International Talents to Satakunta project is to strengthen the renewal capacity and competitiveness of SMEs in Satakunta by developing a business-oriented innovation platform that enables the utilization of international expertise in practical development work. The project particularly supports technology-intensive sectors such as automation, robotics, and artificial intelligence, and lowers the threshold for companies to try new solutions through cooperation with universities. At the same time, the project strengthens companies' digital capabilities and readiness for international cooperation.
The main objective of the project is to create flexible, scalable, and sustainable cooperation models that can be embedded into the established activities of SAMK and companies in the region. In this way, international expertise will become a long-term part of the Satakunta innovation ecosystem.

Project activities
The project will begin by surveying and interviewing companies to identify their needs and the obstacles limiting their ability to utilize international expertise. Based on the survey, development experiments will be planned and implemented, in which companies will work together with SAMK experts and international students in the form of sprints, mini-training sessions, and technology assignments, for example.
The experiments will be carried out in an innovation environment built around the RoboAI Academy, and their results will be used to formulate clear and usable operating models for companies. The project also organizes workshops, events related to entrepreneurship and career paths, and produces communications to disseminate the results and make good practices visible regionally and internationally.
